BASEL ZOO

Basel Zoo is a zoological garden in Basel. It is located in the Basel-Bachletten quarter on the river Birsig. It was founded in 1874, giving it the distinction of being the oldest zoo in Switzerland.

MARKTHALLE

The Basel Markthalle was built in 1929 and was used as a market until 2004. After standing vacant for several years, it was refurbished and various specialist shops took up the space.

THEATER BASEL

Theater Basel is the civic theatre of the Swiss city of Basel. It houses music, drama and dance. From September to June, around 600 performances of over 40 new productions are performed each season on the theatre's three stages.

BIRD'S EYE JAZZ CLUB

Insiders and experts consider the bird's eye jazz club to be one of the best jazz clubs in Europe. The club, sponsored by Jazz-Live Basel, was founded by bassist Stephan Kurmann. Five evenings a week, the club offers authentic, contemporary live jazz with well-known jazz greats from around the world, as well as the best musicians from the national and regional scene and up-and-coming talents.
